Mobile App Development Checklist – A Short Guide to Developing Mobile Application

Most businesses have a website and mobile apps that are well-suited for mobile users.  One might say that it is easy to develop an app, however, there are many factors to consider coming up with a successful mobile app.

These are the following checklist to consider in Mobile App Development:
Pre-development

Before jumping into the actual process of mobile app development, it is necessary to;
Research:

Your customer – You must know who your customers are, determine what type of customers you are targeting, are they millennials or tech-savvy, or are they still in the stage of getting to know and learning the basics of technology and innovations.  If you were able to identify who your customers are, only then can you decide what to cater and offer the best.
Your competitors –  it is important to know who you are competing with. Do a research about what they do and other relevant info that can help you to improvise to stand out. From this point, you will be able to get ideas and insights of where you stand.

Focus on Your Goals:

It is a must to know what the purpose of the mobile app is. Is it designed to let the customers do their purchases through their mobile? Is it for lifestyle and entertainment purposes? Regardless of what, it is important to determine its purpose to be able to come with an appropriate app's design.
Another thing that needs to be focused on with is the app’s name. It should be as short as possible. App’s logo is important too, it should be unique.

Development stage:

Here’s the checklist needed during the app development stage.
Operating System - Android and iOS
Device compatibility -  Mobile phone and tablet compatibility, screen size and resolution.
Data Connectivity -  Browse using data connection, 3G
Hardware Devices Integration –Ensure app’s design to function well with the devices
Payment method - establish a method of payment especially in the in-app purchases
Featured Gestures - Determine the controls to be used for the app to work, (i.e. finger scanning, swiping, facial recognition, double tapping)
Language -  Multiple languages might need different designs
UI Design - Follow a distinct design to optimise UI design of the app
App feature - A clear layout of the features as it affects efficiency and adequacy in the market
In-app advertising
Functionality behaviour
Network security and protocol

 Post-development Stage

What should be done after passing the development stage?

App testing – Ensure that the mobile app functions exactly and ensure that users know how to navigate it.
App launch – Launch the mobile app with your marketing skills and strategy.
Maintenance –Keep the app efficient, functional and updated through a support team.
Updates – Always come up with the latest and interesting updates (new feature, discounts, and fresh contents, just to name a few).
